Apollo Rida Poland Sp. z.o.o. has announced the commencement of the expansion of the Kraków M1 Regional Mall. The highly successful mall containing over 43,000 m2 of retail space will be expanded by over 9,200 m2. The new addition will provide room for Media Markt to expand their current store by 2000 m2 and room for an additional 2200 m2 fashion anchor. Additionally, over 18 additional retailers will be added to the mall bringing the newest in fashion, accessories, and other desirable products. Many of the new retailers will be exciting new business formats for Poland and will add to the broad offering Kraków M1 is known for. Construction is commencing on November 13, with a groundbreaking that day scheduled for 12:00 noon. The estimated completion date is in late August 2009. Apollo Rida completed over 5,000 m2 of expansion space at Kielce, Radom and Czeladź in 2008. Apollo Rida has several additional expansion projects underway with the planned addition of a 15,000 m2 mall adjacent to its Tychy Power Center, a 10,000 m2 “big box” expansions to its Zabrze M1 and Lubin center, an expansion of the Poznań M1, and a new mall in Gdańsk with over 13,000 m2 during 2009 to 2011. Planned expansions of stand alone buildings to its Real Hypermarkets in Lublin and Legnica, will also occur Apollo Rida currently owns 28 retail centers in Poland and 12 in Germany and 1 in Russia containing over 1,000,000 m2 of GLA. It additionally owns over 265,000 m2 of land for future development making Apollo Rida one of the largest and most active real estate investors in Central and Eastern Europe.
